Let's think about this...
Now that we have established the difference between broke and gentle most
people want semi trained and very gentle horses.
The reason for this is it is always easier to finish the horse/rider team together
than to teach the rider on a school horse and the horse to be schooled by a
trained rider.
Remember, if this is your horse it ultimately only has to please one person. YOU!
Who knows better what you want from your equine companion than you do?
Maybe you want to use a slight brush of your calf muscle to "leg the horse
around." Or maybe you want to use spurs.
Maybe you want your horse to begin a turn as you pick up the rein. Or maybe you
want him to wait for pressure.
Maybe you wan an immediate 12 step backup when you cue your horse into
reverse. Or a slow step by step reverse.
